On September 24, 2025, Che Changbo, Secretary-General of the China Mining Association (CMA),  visited the Embassy of Mongolia in China at the invitation of the host, where they held talks with Enkhbold, Mongolian Ambassador to China. The two sides had in-depth exchanges on topics including the outcomes of the Chinese delegation’s participation in Mongolia’sMiningweek & Minepro 2025event, preparations for the Mongolian delegation’s attendance at the 2025 (27th) China Mining Conference and Exhibition, and China-Mongolia cooperation in the mining sector.

At the Ambassador’s request, Secretary-General Che Changbo first provided an overview of the CMA, then reviewed the outcomes of the CMA’s invited participation in “Mining week & Minepro 2025” event. He noted that the successful hosting of Mongolia’s Mining Week fully reflects Mongolia’s high emphasis on mining development. During the event, a large number of Chinese mining enterprises participated with core technologies in exploration, development, and engineering equipment, along with their willingness to cooperate, which demonstrated four prominent advantages of China-Mongolia mining cooperation: similar geological conditions, strong economic complementarity, outstanding geographical advantages, and low trade costs. Additionally, three strengths of Chinese mining enterprises further enhance this complementarity: first, strong adaptability, with comprehensive solutions for mines of different scales and types; second, systematic standards, norms, and technical support for green mine construction and ecological restoration, enabling the coordinated advancement of resource development and environmental protection; third, high competitiveness characterized by low costs, high efficiency, and sound benefits. The CMA stands ready to support the Mongolian delegation’s participation in this year’s China Mining Conference and Exhibition, and to facilitate deeper and more practical China-Mongolia mining cooperation.

Ambassador Enkhbold welcomed the visit of Secretary-General Che Changbo and his delegation, and expressed sincere gratitude to the CMA for its active participation in “Miningweek & Minepro 2025”event and its strong efforts to promote mining exchanges and cooperation between the two countries. He emphasized that mining is a pillar industry of Mongolia’s national economy and holds great significance for the country’s development. China-Mongolia mining cooperation not only aligns with the industrial needs of both sides, but also plays a key role in boosting bilateral economic and trade development. The Ambassador also highly commended the CMA’s role as a bridge and link in mining exchanges between the two countries—particularly highlighting the cooperation memorandum signed last year between the CMA and Mongolia’s National Mining Association, which laid a solid foundation for practical cooperation between the two sides. Ambassador Enkhbold stated that Mongolia attaches great importance to its participation and exhibition at this year’s China Mining Conference and Exhibition, and will send a high-level delegation. He expressed the expectation that this will deepen bilateral cooperation in mining policies, project investment, and technology and equipment. The Mongolian Embassy in China will fully leverage its bridging role to provide more support and assistance for China-Mongolia mining cooperation, and contribute to the sustained and healthy development of bilateral economic and trade relations.

Ts. Tumenbayar, Commercial Counselor of the Mongolian Embassy in China, and Zhao Kuitao, Deputy Secretary-General of the CMA, along with relevant personnel from the CMA’s International Cooperation Department, attended the talks.
